An introduction to meditation and the Heart Rhythm Heart Rate Variability
Heart Rhythm Meditation is a powerful form of meditation focuses on the heart. It strengthens the physical heart while it opens the emotional heart and energy.
In our new book, Energize Your Heart speak of the heart has four dimensions: the vertical dimension, both in height and depth, the horizontal dimension, the dimension of future and the internal dimension. Each dimension of the heart is different, and our heart's desire to develop in all dimensions.
The height of the heart gives a sense of hope, optimism, idealism and courage to dream, to hold high standards impossible. When this failure, the heart is crushed with disappointment and regret. The depth of the heart is where they feel all the emotions, connect each of us to all other beings and allow us to feel love, joy, sadness, and all other emotions. Without this, the heart is shallow, can not connect or empathize with others and aware of the richness of feeling.
The width of gives one heart tolerance, the ability to be with all people in harmony, to bring together different perspectives and influences into a coherent whole. Without the "quality broadhearted one becomes narrow and isolated.
The size of the heart ahead gives us the courage to move forward towards our goals and desires of our hearts. Without this, the heart is blocked with frustration, dreams of the heart only vaguely remembered.
Finally, the internal dimension has all the other dimensions of its potential, which represents the capacity for change and the ability to sustain emotion. The inner dimension gives the feeling of peace and quiet inside. Without it, one is exhausted by the demands of life. This paper shows that this understanding of the heart is not only metaphorical dimensions can be measured and seen by an instrument in the physical beating of your heart.
The heart organ is connected through nerves to other organs directly system main and is able to feel your need. The heart also responds to adrenaline in the blood flowing through it. With these inputs, the heart is able to adjust its rate to accommodate the needs of the whole body. For its heartbeat, is capable of emitting a signal common to all cells.
The center coordinates whole body and therefore also gives us a model for heart-centered leadership: listening to everyone, and what you say, say it all. The heart has no secrets, but includes others and loves who reveals himself. It is the mind that estimate, "What can I say to whom, with what effect?" The heart absorbs many emotions and their own emotions are continuously broadcast to all, so the secret is useless.
Because the heart is the continuous adjustment of your heart, the heartbeat signal is not constant. Internal and external stimuli, including thoughts, emotional reactions, and changes in the environment trigger immediate changes in heart rate so that the pace will come a little sooner or later, creating the heart rate variability (HRV), part of normal cardiac function.
In a non-meditation state, there is no discernible pattern of heart rate variability. If letters on a chart, the heart rate pattern appears chaotic, with several jagged peaks (find more detailed information appliedmeditation.org).
Meditation on the heart rate, the model becomes a smooth sinusoidal curve. The heart rate goes into a state of harmony with the respiration rate called drag. The stripped the peak of each inhalation occurs precisely at the lowest point of the heart rate - the lower the heart rate curve. This is contrary to the general pattern that exists, which is taught in medical schools, which is that inhalation tends to be related, to some extent with a slower fast heart (though obviously other factors that normally invade the model for chaotic HRV). To our knowledge, this effect has not been studied, which certainly not known, even in cardiology. The effects of conscious breathing are not medically recognized at this time.
Your heart rate pattern is determined entirely by the breathing pattern. You can not control your heart rate directly, but by controlling the breath, you can do, is to get your heart rate to follow the pattern of breathing. This indirect control capacity of your heart rate is essential to stimulate the heart and the application the strength of your heart to your life. This effect is so strong that we have observed that cardiac arrhythmia disappears during the Heart Rhythm Meditation.
