occasionally when Im in the gym i use heart rate monitors that are in some of the machines. in my gym are like metal plates on machines that just manages to hold his hands while doing their exercise. How accurate are the monitors on these machines? I was using a machine cycle for 20 minutes and I was reading a stable 160-170 beats per minute, but once or twice, reading shot up to about 180, then 200, then 210 and then, as she stopped giving a reading. only does this for a few seconds and thought if I took my hands and then return back to normal. Has anyone else seen this happen in the gym? machines are not accurate, or excessive exercise i majorly myself for a few seconds?!? im concerned that my heart was jumping from 160 bpm and 220 or whatever! FYI I felt good, the exercise was stable, it was just strange to see the monitor and jump, but even the guy at the gym, said there are very precise.

Have you tried to check your pulse on your wrist or neck (may have to slow down a little to feel)? At that rate should be able to hear the pulse in his ears. Demi, of course, is talking about blood pressure, heart rate did not.
