According to a study by the University of Colorado and Boston Children's Hospital, listening to iPods and MP3 players at high volume can lead to loss hearing. Listening through earphones or headphones in-ear for 90 minutes a day in 80% volume is safe for long-term hearing, but in 70% a amount of security can listen for 4 ½ hours a day. However, the risk of permanent hearing loss may increase with only 5 minutes a day to all volume. According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, 811 overweight adults were randomly assigned to 1 of 4 diets. The diets were healthy twist on the popular commercial diets, containing different levels of fat, protein and carbohydrates. Participants were invited to cut 750 calories a day from your diet, exercising 90 minutes a week, keep a food diary online, and meet regularly with counselors from the diet to chart their progress. What the study of 2 years are reduction in weight and waist size was similar in all four diets. What counts in the diet is calorie counting.

According to a report in the Mayo Clinic Health Letter, a well-rounded exercise routine can help offset the effects of aging. For best results from your workout should include 5 types of activities: aerobic heart rate to increase, strengthening to maintain muscle mass, stretching to increase flexibility, balance, to improve coordination, and "core stability" training, which focuses on the muscles of the trunk. Studies show regular exercise can reduce risks of chronic diseases as heart disease and diabetes as well as stimulate immune function, alleviate fatigue and reduce the risk of disability in older adults.
